Because a novice can make many mistakes when he first starts collecting, the more mature stamp collectors can help to guide him so that he doesn’t make rookie mistakes. Even if the novice isn’t collecting as an investment, he doesn’t want to waste money buying poor quality stamps. The experienced stamp collectors really enjoy helping the younger ones. They love sharing their expertise with others. Everyone loves to be the expert at least once in a while.

Sometimes stamp collecting clubs provide socialization for collectors who are retired or lonely. These clubs give these members a chance to visit and socialize with other collectors. Sometimes club members have socials and invite non collectors for their parties.

There are thousands of stamp collecting clubs around the world. These happy hobbyists get a chance to share their love of stamps with one another and just have good clean fun.
